That explains a lot.   Ylse and Hector visit their parents.   (Sometimes wish us Peeps O’ Color didn’t feel the need to spell out our social conditions so directly.   It’s as if we were talking very slowly and loudly to a baby, and repeating ourselves a lot because we don’t really trust the kid to understand.   I know, I know, if white folks understood the subtleties we wouldn’t be in this situation.  Okay, Ylse, I forgive you for talking really slow and loud sometimes.  But, trust me your characters’ lives speak for themselves.)
