Here’s a new webseries that went online last week.  Old Dogs & New Tricks focuses on four single friends (there’s that magic number again) dealing with work and relationships.  This time, they’re gay men and trying to age gracefully in West Hollywood.  But instead of having a midlife crisis at the age of 30 or 40, these guys are hitting 50.

From their YouTube clip:

In the series pilot, West Hollywood agent Nathan Adler recalls how he first met 80’s rocker Brad King, personal trainer ‘Muscles’ Carter & actor Ross Stein as he begrudgingly prepares for his 50th birthday party. Stars Leon Acord, Curt Bonnem, Jeffrey Patrick Olson & David Pevsner

Produced by Larilee Productions and Greasy Pig Studios
Executive Producers Leon Acord & Laurence Whiting
Written & Created by Leon Acord
Developed for the Web & Directed by Arvin Bautista
Line Producer Matt Ladensack
Produced by Levi Damione
Music by Nic. tenBroek
Director of Photography Jon Salmon

I like the premise and the fact that the actors are a little older than the usual casts.  I’m a little turned off that all the characters are in the same entertainment industry.  The acting and writing are so-so.  We’ll have to see how the ensemble gels and if the writing improves.
