PUSH at Austin Film Fest

Have you heard about this film yet?  It’s fantastic, and getting more and more attention, including two upcoming screenings at the Austin Film Festival, Friday, October 21 (9:30pm) and Tuesday, October 25 (9:15pm).

PUSH: Madison… is an independent documentary feature about a high school basketball team deeply burdened by the difficulties of trying to survive in the inner city, and yet graced, thanks in large part to an incredible coach, with their first-time-ever shot at a state championship.

So far the doc has screened to full houses at the Independent Film Festival of Boston, Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, the Rhode Island International Film Festival, the New York International Latino Film Festival, Cinequest, and others.

It won Best Documentary at the 2011 Roxbury International Film Festival and was rated #1 by the audience at IFF Boston.

PUSH: Madison

Is writer/producer Rudy Hypolite entering negotiations over distribution rights for TV broadcast, Pay Per View and ad-supported online streaming?  That’s what we’re hearing, but we’ll have to get confirmation before saying so officially….

OK, we admit to a bias, having known Rudy for years and, full disclosure, having helped a little in the film’s early stages, but the official Wide Lantern position is that he and this film deserve nothing less than the widest audience possible.  It is truly a must-see movie.
