A few weeks back, Fast and Furious Five director Justin Lin announced the launch of his new YOMYOMF channel on YouTube with such superstar partners as Ryan Higa, Kevin Wu, Abdul Khan, Philip W. Chung, Cash Warren, NBA star Baron Davis and Chester See.

The YOMYOMF Network will be more than just an “Asian American” channel—we’re going to bring you programming that’ll embrace our trademark YOMYOMF sensibility. So check out our press release below where you’ll learn more about some of what’s to come and keep reading our blog (and our Facebook and Twitter as well) because we’ll be sharing all the exclusive updates about our channel right here first.

But for now, we’re very honored and excited about this opportunity and we’ll do our best to create interesting and entertaining content. Finally, we’d like to extend a special thanks to all our readers. We wouldn’t have been able to do this without your continued support. It’s going to be quite a ride and we hope you’ll come along with us!

One of the partners, Philip Chung, has just posted a little more info on what’s been going on behind the scenes.

A couple of weeks ago, I was taking stock of where we were in the process and realized that we had slightly over 40 projects in various stages of development, which is not too shabby. Now, there’s been more ideas added to that list since and I’m sure there will be even more to come. And though it’s highly unlikely that all of those projects will see the light of day, I still felt a sense of accomplishment. True, we haven’t launched yet and have a long way to go, but each of those projects represents an idea that someone is passionate about and that we might actually help bring to life. And what’s even more exciting is seeing all the different genres and diversity of ideas on that list—we have the opportunity to show Asian Americans in a way that I’ve personally never seen them represented in the American media and that’s not something to take lightly.

It sounds like an amazing project.  Can’t wait to what they come up with.
