Lying in bed Sunday night, I saw a tweet come thru from Oprah asking Grammy viewers to switch the tube to OWN, pointedly entreating especially those who had Nielsen ratings boxes. I retweeted it. Immediately fans replied that with the return of The Walking Dead, the Grammys, and Desperate Housewives, they’d have to issue a firm “No.”
It appears Winfrey violated Nielsen policy of campaigning box owners to watch a specific show or network. At the request of Nielsen, Oprah removed the tweet.
It still appears on my feed because it’s a retweet quote.

The talk show queen apologized for the blunder.
Nikki Finke, who clearly takes every opportunity to slam Winfrey, came down hard on Winfrey, saying:
Hey, does anyone even know where exactly OWN lives on the remote? Nah. …I think running OWN is punishment enough. It sucks.
