The CBS Diversity Institute’s Writers Mentoring Program has chosen its 2014-2015 mentees. Included among them is our friend, Teresa Huang. The former Knight Rider series remake writer and Nurse Ruth on Grey’s Anatomy was a panelist on our first Con panel at Wondercon. The other mentees are Allyssa Lee, Bo Yeon Kim and Erika Lippoldt, Chantelle Wells, Marie-Grete Heinemann, Indira Wilson and Chris Erric Maddox, Sundi Lofty, and Hannah Sanghee Park.

Led by Carol Kirschner, the program matches mentees with two mentors: a network executive and a showrunner of a current CBS show. The program also includes weekly meetings and seminars.

And if you’re thinking about applying for next year’s program, I learned one of Kirschner’s pet peeves by asking a question at her Comic-Con panel: Carol doesn’t favor novelistic narration. See the panel moderated by Gray Jones here.
