Miles from Tomorrowland is Chinese American.

Done deal.

Shortly after the premiere of Fresh Off the Boat, Miles from Tomorrowland premiered on Disney Junior. According to a Disney press release, Miles reached 2.0 million unique Total Viewers and 697,000 Kids 2-5, and ranked as the week’s #3 cable TV series among Kids age 2-8.  It’s also #1 on the WATCH Disney Junior app, amassing nearly 17 million video views since December.”

Like its live action counterpart, Miles depicts an Asian American family. Olivia Munn, Brenda Song, and George Takei are amongst the voice cast. Like Hiro Hamada of Big Hero 6, Miles is hapa. And his sister—I love it—Loretta is a coder.

The series was created by Sascha Paladino, the creator of Ni Hao, Kai-Lan. He has said that future episodes will explore Miles’ Chinese background.

360 Around the Galaxy

Disney Publishing Worldwide has released the Miles from Tomorrowland: Missions” app in conjunction with the show’s premiere.

Toys, books, role play, apparel home décor, accessories and more are available now. Disney Consumer Products has partnered with TOMY for an innovative toy line.
