The Chinese American Museum in Los Angeles will present at encore screening of Tyrus on June 16 at the museum.


Tyrus Wong, the grandfather of playwright Jason Fong, worked for both Disney and Warner Brothers. He was lead artist for Bambi, his drawings became the basis for the lush pastel style of the movie. After he retired in 1968, he became renowned for his kite-making.


Jason told us that his kite-flying has become events, still bringing huge crowds out to Santa Monica to watch the now 105 year old fly kites
