Kristen Bell will lead a star-filled evening concert and conversation presented by the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and the Los Angeles LGBT Center in memory and support of the victims of the recent tragedy at Pulse nightclub. United FORlando will include actress actress Marissa Jaret Winokur (Hairspray) and singer/musician Our Lady J. The evening tribute with a sing-along performance of Broadway For Orlando’s What the World Needs Now is Love.
The concert will be held at the Bram Goldsmith Theater at The Wallis and will include special musical performances by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles and the cast of the acclaimed play Hit The Wall by Ike Holter. The night also includes a conversation moderated by actor and activist Wilson Cruz. b actor, writer and director Tajamika Paxton will join Kate Kendell of the National Center for Lesbian Rights and Darrel Cummings of the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
Broadway For Orlando’s What the World Needs Now is Love recording—created to honor the victims and those wounded in the Orlando tragedy at Pulse nightclub and aid the surrounding community—is produced by Broadway Records, Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley. What the World Needs Now was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. The original Broadway For Orlando recording can be purchased on iTunes with 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the song to benefit The GLBT Community Center of Central Florida.
